TimeXtender Reveals Latest Enhancements to Discovery Hub®
Recent updates to Discovery Hub® support more than 100 data sources as well as Microsoft Azure Data Lake
We are a global, distributed workforce, organized in self-managed teams.
AARHUS, Denmark & BELLEVUE, Wash. – September 2018 – TimeXtender, a recognized global software company enabling instant access to any type of data in the organization to support advanced analytics and artificial intelligence (AI), has announced it will be participating at this year’s Microsoft Ignite, September 24-28 in Orlando.
TimeXtender will be a presenter in the “Azure SQL Database Managed Instance: Migrate SQL servers easily to a fully managed cloud service” breakout session and the “Tales from the trenches with Azure SQL Database: Best practices from real customer deployments” breakout session. In addition, its Discovery Hub® technology platform will be a key topic of discussion at the “Making AI real with SQL Server” technical keynote address. TimeXtender will also discuss the release of its upgraded Discovery Hub® which will provide support for Azure Data Lake.
AZURE DATA LAKE ANNOUNCEMENT
TimeXtender has developed a new ODX (Operational Data Exchange) component within its Discovery Hub® technology platform to fully support Azure Data Lake. This development enables organizations to populate an Azure Data Lake with virtually any number and any type of data sources available on the market and to fully automate a continuous flow of data in and out of the Azure Data Lake. This capability results in a “one-stop shop” for all enterprise data and addresses the ongoing challenges organizations face on how to manage present and future data. The entire announcement about this new release, available on September 26th, can be found here.
“AZURE SQL DATABASE MANAGED INSTANCE” BREAKOUT SESSION
The “Azure SQL Database Managed Instance: Migrate SQL servers easily to a fully managed cloud service” breakout session (BRK3165) will feature Dan Erasmus, global alliance lead from TimeXtender; Nipun Sharma, analytics architect/manager from Komatsu; and Drazen Sumic and Mladen Andzic from Microsoft. The session will focus on details about migrating to Azure SQL Database Managed Instance, a new deployment model of Azure SQL Databases. This is essential to understand as it enables friction-free migration to a fully managed cloud service (for the vast majority of SQL server applications). For those who have built their analytical architecture with Discovery Hub® on an on-prem SQL database, TimeXtender has developed a fully automated migration to Azure SQL MI, which only requires a click of a button.
The presentation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 26 from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM. It will be held in the OCCC WF 1-2 room in the Tangerine Ballroom.
“AZURE SQL DATABASE BEST PRACTICES” BREAKOUT SESSION
TimeXtender will also be represented in a second breakout session (BRK2187) titled, “Tales from the trenches with Azure SQL Database: Best practices from real customer deployments.” This presentation will cover practical implementation scenarios. Dan Erasmus will discuss Managed Instance.
Attendees will also hear directly from several senior engineers about why companies choose Azure SQL Database when modernizing existing applications or building new business critical applications. Requirements such as security, performance, features, and cloud considerations will be explored.
This 75-minute session will be held on Thursday, September 27 from 4:00 PM to 5:15 PM in OCCC W224 CD.
“AI FOR SQL SERVER” TECHNICAL KEYNOTE
The technical keynote address (GS005) titled: “Making AI real with SQL Server, Azure Databases and Azure Big Data Analytics Services” will include John Steele, general manager for business technology and systems at Komatsu and a customer of TimeXtender Discovery Hub®. This technical keynote will explore how companies can leverage data and AI by using Discovery Hub® to literally transform their business. Attendees will also learn about the latest innovations in Microsoft’s Data and AI platform and hear stories from several leading global brands about their successful digital transformation journeys.
The keynote discussion will be held on Monday, Sept. 24 from 2:15 pm to 3:30 pm and will take place in OCCC CD W415 in the Valencia Ballroom. More can also be found here about the keynote.
